Bitcoin Cash gained more than 38% over the past 24 hours climbing past $860. Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin, the fork took place on August 1st. Bitcoin Cash hit a record high on August 19th. It has a market cap of over $14 billion. There is still a big debate over Bitcoin Cash as some argue that Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin and that they are the same. Jihan Wu, Co-founder of Bitmain insists that they are different. He posted on twitter in response to a thread on reddit stating, No, please stop this. Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin Cash. We should not confuse it with Bitcoin. Crypto Liberty argued that “Bitcoin has been hijacked by Segwit, now the community must restore Satoshi’s vision. BitcoinCash is going to overpass the power of Bitcoin”.
Now let’s take a look at the performance of Bitcoin. It surpassed $7,700 on Wednesday, but it didn’t stay up there for very long and dropped almost immediately after reaching this level. Today it continues to move lower and we saw it fall under $7,000. Bitcoin Pioneer Charlie Shrem posted on Twitter yesterday. I will be among the first to admit I was wrong. When I was told #SegWit2x I thought there would be consensus in everyones best interest, but over time learnt this wasn’t the case. In the long term, I hope you all can see my (and most of our) intentions were good.
Bitcoin Gold announced that they would release a formal software client for download on November 12th. The team behind bitcoin gold said that, the BTG blockchain will officially be live, with blocks mined openly by users and pools from all around the world. wallets and exchanges will be able to process deposits, withdrawals and trades (as soon as they are ready). This is the culmination of months of hard work, which have led to many changes and improvements.
