In today’s video we talk about IOTA, which I believe is a cryptocurrency ahead of its time. Earlier in the year I called IOTA the next big cryptocurrency and it was featured on my list of cryptocurrencies to hold for the next 5 years. IOTA is the backbone for the internet of things and allows for machine-to-machine communication. The internet of things explained simply is having the ability to connect any device to the internet and therefore connect other devices to one another. IOTA plans to be the backbone of the internet of things and internet of things applications. We saw IOTA at around $0.15 this year and now it is over $1.30 at the time of this video on 11/30/17. The tangle is the core innovation of IOTA and it allows IOTA to be successful connecting different Internet of Things ( IoT ) devices and keeps the IOTA network running smoothly. IOTA allows for microtransactions and IOTA transactions are fee-less. As the IOTA network grows in transaction volume it will only continue to get faster. IOTA transactions are confirmed by new transactions. In order for an IOTA transaction to confirm it must first confirm two transactions that came before it. The Internet of Things is starting to develop faster and faster and IOTA looks to be the backbone of the Internet of Things. IOTA has the chance to be a cryptocurrency giant and it truly is a cryptocurrency ahead of it’s time.
