Most of the firms acquired by Google are based in the United States, and, in turn, most of these are based in or around the San Francisco Bay Area. Ripple is headquartered in San Francisco. Acquiring Ripple would help Google (Alphabet Inc.) to expand its holdings and give it another stronghold in a different industry, the financial/banking industry.
