Ripple’s XRP Surges, SegWit2X Concerns, EXMO Kidnapping – Dec 29th Crypto News

XRP hit a record high today gaining more than 40% over the past 24 hours. According to coinmarketcap.com, XRP reached 1 dollar and 90 cents before falling a bit lower.

SegWit2x was originally planned to fork in November but it was cancelled at the last minute as there seemed to be a bit of a bitcoin civil war taking place. Bitcoin Cash skyrocketed in November after news broke out about the cancellation of Segwit2x. The idea behind the hard fork is that it is suppose to help Bitcoin’s scalability problems. The launch of the New Bitcoin SegWit2X Fork Finally Took Place yesterday, but everyone is wondering whether it is real or fake. There have been a lot of concerns regarding the unknown development team as they had nothing to do with the people behind the original New York Agreement and the SegWit2x that was cancelled in November. There were also inconsistencies regarding the details and promises. For example the project leader promised to issue a proportional number of Satoshi Bitcoins to all BTC holders, but nobody knows how the team would actually access Satoshi’s coins.
