Right now is a terrible time to buy into VR or a gaming rig simply because Ethereum or Altcoin mining has increased high end graphics cards about 2-3 folds. This is absolutely ridiculous for someone that just wants a card to USE for personal reasons. Perhaps they could do a thing where the VR sellers could reserve a card with Nvidia so that you have priority in buying a graphics card with the purchase of a VR set? I think Nvidia should care about this because the total features they implement are not really used in a mining rig and sort of gone to waste. This is an example of cryptos affecting everyday people who may not care or want to deal with crypto currencies at all. With the need for extensible computing power and GPUs being powerful yet more flexible than ASICs, this problem will likely continue into the future.
