How to Print from DOS PRN, LPT1: to Windows printers: USB, Wi-Fi, PDF

You can download Printfil at https://www.Printfil.com

In this video, you can see how to make a DOS program printing to all the installed Windows printers, including USB, Wi-Fi, Fax, PDF etc.

The DOS printing problem:

– Start the DOS EDIT program
– Print the document to the printer on LPT1:
– It doesn’t work because EDIT cannot find an LPT1: printer (or port)

To solve the problem:

– Run the Printfil Setup program
– Read and accept the license
– The other options are ok in most cases
– Now you’re asked to configure Printfil
– Default options usually are ok, but ensure LPT1: is selected if you want to print from DOS

That’all. Now:

– Print from DOS EDIT to the printer on LPT1: again
– Now Printfil captures the DOS print job and shows it on screen (if Preview is enabled)
– At this point, you can print it to any Windows printer, including USB, Wi-FI, PDF, fax etc.
