Storage Startup Omni Raises Funds via Ripple XRP – New XRP Use Case, Funding for Startups!

http://www.ThinkingCrypto.com Omni, a startup which is a storage startup, raised a round of funding which consisted of XRP and Cash. A total of $25 Million!
Ripple said executives Chris Larsen and Stefan Thomas personally invested in Omni an undisclosed sum using the startup’s cryptocurrency XRP, and Highland Capital Partners invested in traditional dollars.
The deal illustrates how cryptocurrency is shaking up the venture industry. Also shows Ripple XRP’s potential.
Omni has converted some of the XRP to dollars, but it will also give employees the opportunity to be compensated for bonuses in XRP rather than company stock options. The company is even exploring paying for some business services in XRP. For example, Omni paid Table Public Relations in the currency.
Highland Capital Partners General Partner Manish Patel said the strategic partnership between the companies could allow Omni to experiment with using XRP instead of dollars to rent items on the platform. The company did not yet disclose how it will incorporate Ripple into transactions.
