Whenever someone mentions the word Nazi the first person that comes to mind is Hitler, however there were many people during that time who did horrible deeds, some of the worst being women. Join us as we look at the most evil women during Nazi reign.

Erna Petri-
Erna Petri was the wife of a senior SS officer, and they both followed the German precept which was to “physically assert themselves” over workers.

Dorthea Binz:
Prior to the Holocaust Dorthea was employed as a maid, she disliked this position so much however that she applied to her local SS office, and was assigned to Ravensbrück to learn how to be a guard on September 1, 1939.

Juana Bormann
Juana or Johana was a prison guard at several Nazi concentration camps. She initially joined the Auxiliary SS in 1938 to “earn more money” and first was assigned to the Lichtenburg concentration camp.

Hildegard Lächert
Hildegard served as a guard at many camps but most famously she is known for her time at Ravensbrück. In October of 1942 she was called to serve as a guard, and went on to work at Ravensbrück, Majdanek, and Auschwitz.

Alice Orlowski
Alice was trained as a guard at the Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1941, she was selected in 1942 as one of the guards to be posted at Majdanek.

Maria Mandel
Maria was known for her role as a top-ranking official at Auschwitz. It was there she was believed to have participated in the deaths of well over 500,000 female prisoners.

Ilse Koch
Ilse was not a guard, nor was she in the SS in any way, but her husband Karl Koch was commander of Buchenwald, and then later on of Majdanek. She decided to take advantage of the power he was given, and she developed a reputation for cruelty.

Ruth Neudeck
Ruth arrived at Ravensbrück concentration camp and began training as a guard in July of 1944. She soon impressed superiors enough to be promoted to Barrack Overseer for her brutality towards inmates in July of 1944.
