Samsung Connect (Smart Things Cloud) is an IoT application connecting and managing devices and appliances launched with Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+. As Samsung Connect provides service to global users and the development teams are spread across regions, Samsung uses 4 AWS regions. In this session, Jupiter, Samsung Electronics DevOps Engineer, will introduce how they are using Route53 to spread user’s requests to AWS regions to provide minimal latency to end users, how they are storing user information and device information in Amazon Aurora and Amazon DynamoDB, and how different micro-services are connected to each other using VPC peering ensuring each services are de-coupled and keeping the infrastructure secure.
