KTX accepts STX self-rescue plan

산은 ‘STX조선 노사 합의’ 수용…법정관리 신청계획 철회

STX Offshore and Shipbuilding escaped court receivership after the Korea Development Bank decided to accept the self-rescue plan submitted by the firm’s labor union.
The company failed to submit the plan by the Monday deadline, but eventually reached an agreement with its labor union, managing to hand it in on Tuesday night.
The plan includes ways to meet the creditor’s requirement of reducing labor costs by 75 percent while avoiding redundancies, such as by reducing bonuses and expanding unpaid leave.
