The Verge exhibits excellent performance on its own but can also take on the character and personality of the world’s best small diaphragm condensers and electrets. This is thanks to the native AFX plug-ins compatible with any DAW on both Mac and PC and the ever-expending collection of mic emulations (currently sporting the Berlin 184, Perth 55, Freiburg 6, Aalborg 4006 and Hamburg 40 models, with more on the way). Current mic emulations are also an integral part of the video – just move around using your cursor or mobile device to check how each of them sounds in a studio environment.
The Verge modeling microphones come with extended maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level) of up to 146 dB, making them well suited to recording very loud sound sources such as drums and brass.
Maksim is no stranger to both Antelope Audio’s Edge and Verge microphones. Here we see Max performing “Impossible Downhill” – a track off the latest release of his formidable band BROND. Their full-blooded debut “Graveyard Campfire” is an adrenaline-filled riff-o-rama of shouted vocals, mighty rhythm section, alt rock, hardcore, post hardcore and stoner.
