Jio-RIL To acquire Radisys For 5G and IoT (Internet Of Things) | Jio-Radisys Deal For 5G Expansion.Reliance Industries has signed an agreement to buy America’s Open Telecom Solution Provider Radisys. This deal has been completed with the intention of strengthening Jio’s position in the future area such as 5G and Internet of Things (IoT). According to sources associated with the case, the deal involves a valuation of $ 7.4 million. The two companies said in a joint statement that Radisys’s headquarter is in Hilsborough, Oregon and the company has about 600 employees. Radisys, listed company in Nasdaq, has an engineering team in Bangalore as well as a worldwide sales and support office. It said that Radisys Corporation is the Global Leader of Open Telecom Solution and it is bought by Reliance Industries Ltd, India’s largest private sector company, at the rate of $ 1.72 per share under the agreement. Radisys has been purchased under a cash deal. It was also stated in the statement that the deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is with the consent of the shareholders of Radisys.

Akash Ambani, director of Reliance Jio, said that with Radisys’ top-class management and engineering team, Reliance will help in innovation and solution development. This will benefit the consumer and platforms focused on our software, as well as the consumer and entrepreneur segment.

This deal has been done to increase the innovation and technology position of Jio in 5G, IOT and Open areas. Radisys CEO Brian Bronson said that the team of Radisys will continue to work independently. Apart from this, Reliance’s leadership and strong market position will enable us to develop our ability to develop open-centric and-to-end solutions, large scale integration.
