Under fire ZEC boss Priscilla Chigumba in trouble over ballot paper which favours Mnangagwa.
MDC Alliance principal and former minister of finance Tendai Biti has taken the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) and it’s chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba to Court. Biti wants the Electoral Court to issue an order for the redesign of the presidential ballot paper which he alleges was designed to favour President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Biti filed an urgent chamber application in the Electoral Court on Wednesday.

Part of the application reads:

The ballot paper that is designed by the first respondent and is being distributed by the first respondent for the presidential elections is inconsistent with the Constitution, the Electoral Act and the electoral guidelines. The first and second respondents have not given contesting political parties and presidential candidates access to the ballot paper to allow them to participate effectively in the electoral process in contravention of Section 155(2)(c) of the Constitution.

The design of the presidential ballot has been criticised by the opposition and civic society organisations for not complying with the laws of the country.
Zec is yet to respond to the challenge.
