Japan-based SBI Remit and Kenya-based BitPesa are supposedly in partnership. The aim of the association is to streamline the payment procedure among Japanese and African organizations.
BitPesa is a digital foreign exchange and payment platform that leverages blockchain settlement for fast, cost-effective payments to and from frontier markets and SBI Remit is Japan’s biggest remittance service co-op which recently partners with Ripple and launched a remittance mobile app “MoneyTap” that enable users to conduct domestic transactions 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It has a remittance function by which user can easily remit locally and abroad using a bank account number, mobile phone number, QR code, and by combining with biometric authentication by fingerprint.
