EOS M50 in Manila

The MMDA return to Manila and I test out the Canon EOS M50 mirrorless camera. It offers DSLR-like performance in a body that’s only slightly larger than a compact camera.

This isn’t a review video but it shows you what kind of performance you can expect from the camera. This camera was a loan from Canon for 1 week.

The video quality is fantastic and very sharp. The autofocus is the fastest and most accurate I’ve ever seen. The camera has support for external microphones, which I tested with a lavalier on another day, and it sounded great.

On the negative side, the video stabilization isn’t great and when trying to sync the video clips with a non-stop external audio recording, I found they quickly went out of sync, which created a lot more work during editing. Another slightly annoying thing is that it has a USB port for data transfer but it can’t be used to charge the battery.

I might do a more detailed review video if people are interested. Although it will still be relatively short, since there are already a lot of detailed review videos for this camera.
