The locals of the Pathar village in Solengiguri are in a fix. The wooden bridge over the Kukurjan River along the NH-52 is in a dilapidated state.
“Six months back, the bridge was repaired with low quality wood. The bridge is damaged and is on the verge of collapse. The government talks about developing the villages but the wooden bridge has till now not been converted into a concrete bridge,” said a local.
The Panchayat polls in Assam will be held in two phases on December 5 and December 9 in 26 districts and 14 civil sub-divisions. The counting will take place on December 12.
