Canon EOS R vs Canon 5D Mkiii photography camera review: which should you pick? We review these photo cameras to see which one is best in our ultimate Canon Photography Comparison!

See Canon EOS R photo samples as well as Canon 5D Mkiii photo samples in our test. We went out to the beach with model Mel Marie to test how these cameras perform both at sunset and at night. We then went back to the studio to check out both Canon photography cameras in a more controlled setting.

For lighting we used a Profoto B1X Strobe light equipped with a 2×3’ Profoto Softbox. We also used some Christmas lights and a fog machine in the studio to add some depth and texture. We swapped between a Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L lens, a Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II lens, and a Canon EF 135mm f/2L lens.
