RBI vs Cryptocurrency Case Update: Supreme Court to decide constitutional validity of RBI bank ban

In a new update provided by blockchain regulatory analysis platform Crypto Kanoon, the counsel representing the cryptocurrency exchanges argued in the court that the constitutional validity of the RBI banking ban should be heard as a separate issue from the government committee report on cryptocurrency. The Supreme Court of India has also recognised that the validity of the RBI banking ban on cryptocurrency related businesses should be discussed and heard because businesses are getting affected. The matter will be heard in the last week of February, presumably February 26, 2019. This should come as great news for Indian cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Earlier this week, Crypto Kanoon had said that the case was adjourned because senior advocates were not present. However, that was not the case since the apex court was actually tied up with other matters.
