There have been a lot of conflicting reports in the mainstream media about cryptocurrency regulations in India leading to a lot of confusion within the crypto community. In a bid to uncover the truth, investigative cryptocurrency news website Coincrunch filed an RTI application with the Department of Economic Affairs where they inquired about the status and recommendations of the committee report. They received a one-line response which stated that the report of the committee is under finalization stage and more information cannot be revealed at the moment. This shows that all the media reports that have come out till date are most likely based on conjecture than actual facts. We do hope that the cryptocurrency committee is keeping a close watch on global crypto regulations and learning from progressive crypto regimes.
