Bitcoin Cash Development video meeting #3 – January 31, 2019 – 23:00 UTC

The third Bitcoin Cash Development video meeting for 2019 took place on January 31st at 23:00 UTC.

Participants:
Amaury Séchet,
Jason B. Cox,
Antony Zegers,
Chris Pacia,
Mark Lundeberg,
Emil Oldenburg

Host: David R Allen

Goal of Meeting: Coordinate work on items for the May upgrade to maximize chances of successful inclusion.

Agenda
1 – Timeline: Explain and clarify ABC release schedule (Jason). We expect 0.18.8 to be released on Feb 11th, then cutoff for Upgrade items is the 15th. This means that the time is now to include the upgrade items, waiting until after 0.18.8 will be too late.

2 – Null Dummy – Report from Dagur on how this is progressing. Are there any roadblocks, or issues that others can help with.

3 – Minimal Data – Discussion on the approach to take for this. Will it simply be enforcing the “VERIFYMINIMALDATA” flag (applies to all executed scripts)? Or will it apply to ScriptSig only, as BIP62 is worded? Will it apply to number encodings as well as data pushes?

4 – Schnorr – Report from Mark Lundeberg and Amaury Sechet on their Diffs and how this item is progressing. Also ask if there is anything that others can help with to progress this item and maximize the chances of it being ready.

5 – 100-byte Transaction Size. Report from Andrea Suisani on how this is going.

6 – Ask participants for any additional topics that may have been overlooked or missed. Confirm that “more basic opcodes” is not on track for this upgrade.
