here is my opinion and in comments present your opinion because opinions matter. its a relationship between users and companies that make product.

strictly af not going to go super nerdy on specs , you can find specs everywhere.
flipout screen is the biggest advantage of canon and not only flip out screen the dual pixel af on canon is way supreme but , has limitations ,just out of experience of using lot of canon and sony and panasonic cameras, canon and sony fights neck to neck in af , wher sony is a fraction of a second faster in af performance thah that of the canon.
canon eos rp has 30 and 60fps 1080 , 24 p ? no but then again if i am not making short films we donot even need that.
the canon eos rp has 4k but no af in 4k no stabilization.
which makes 4k kinda purposeless for vlogging , but still may be used on a tripod.
canon eos r where is the 4k? well 4k requires such a fast amount of transfer speed my extreme pro was not readable at all
so couldnot show u guys the 4k.
the sony a7 iii which i thought would be remarkably faster in af performance i didnot notice a huge difference , its a split second faster that only an experienced user might notice .
canon eos r and rp give lot of priority to red colors and our eye percieves red more , so the colors look really good.
but the flexibility to picture profile in sony gives creator a lot of perspective.
strictly in 1080 eos rp and eos r has amazing af and you have touch and drag af ,
while the sony a7iii also having awesome af wins with 4k capability and 120fps slowmotion 1080.
