Thousands of jobs at British Steel’s Scunthorpe plant are under threat because of a funding crisis.
Weeks after receiving £120m, the company has asked the government for another £75m to support it for the next few months.
Sky sources say the company’s financial situation is causing concern in government, and contingency plans are being prepared for its possible collapse.
