DigiByte Update – #7 – DigiByte is *so* decentralized

It’s this beautiful permissionless nature of DigiByte that allows anybody to come and mine it that has meant we won’t have the upgrade occur by Block 9,100,000 even if we have the lock-in by then.
As I mention in the video, I actually count this as a HUGE win for DigiByte, truly showing off our permissionless, decentralized nature, where the Dev team doesn’t control the miners (as is the case with some other blockchain projects). We’ve had the “reservealgo” upgrade lock-in which laid the path for algo swaps, so we know we have a mandate to improve the security through algo replacement.

So Odocrypt is no doubt going to go ahead eventually, just not by Block 9,100,000. It could happen at any time after that though so encourage any Pools / Exchanges to upgrade ASAP.
