? Project Overview ?

Golem is a project that is trying to build a global decentralized “supercomputer”.

It allows those users with spare computing power to rent it out to those who are looking to buy computing resources.

⚙️ Technology ⚙️

They have just released the beta of their “Brass” version of the Golem protocol.

Within this ecosystem, those that need the computing resources are called the “requestors” and those that want to rent it out are called “providers”.

Those that are going to be providing the computing resources will have to check whether the requester has a decent reputation and that the task can be completed.

Once they are satisfied, there will be a bit more back and forth until both parties are satisfied.

?️ Token ?

The Golem Network Token (GNT) is an ERC20 token that was issued on the Ethereum Blockchain. It is a utility token that will act as economic “fuel” for the Golem network.

GNT is used as the medium of exchange in the ecosystem where the requestors will pay the providers for the computing power. You also have to deposit a certain amount of GNT if you want to be a provider on the network.

The tokens were issued in one of the earlier Ethereum ICOs that took place in November of 2016. The project raised about 8 million dollars where each GNT cost about 1 cent each.

?‍?️ Team, Partners & Development ?‍?️

The Golem team is based in Warsaw, Poland. There are about 2 dozen people currently working on the Golem protocol. Most of the developers and software engineers are computer science majors from Polish universities.

They have also been quite busy working on the Golem protocol. This can all be evidenced by the GitHub commits over the past year.

? Trading & Wallets ?

GNT is available on a number of exchanges although the bulk of the volume is on Binance. There is decent volume and hence liquidity here.

There are a number of wallets that you can store GNT in as they are ERC20 standard.
