"Dashifying Zcash" 51% Attack Protection and More: Rob Viglione of Horizen

I had the distinct pleasure of speaking with Rob Viglione, project lead for Horizen, formerly ZenCash. We spoke about how the project initially started as an effort to “Dashify Zcash” by adding governance and self-funding elements to zero-knowledge proof-based cryptographic transactions, but has now shifted to a full-scale blockchain and sidechain platform for companies to use.

We also covered 51% attacks, which Horizen suffered, as well as methods of mitigating this threat. This included a time delay penalty currently used by the coin, as well as other methods including Dash’s ChainLocks.
