Alonzo Verge Jr. scores 43 points but Sun Devils fall to Gaels

Alonzo Verge Jr. scored an eye-popping 43 points on Wednesday night, but Arizona State men’s basketball could do little else as in a 96-56 loss to Saint Mary’s. Verge set a career high with his 43 points, which was the highest mark of any Pac-12 player this season. The junior did all he could, scoring over 66% of the Sun Devils’ points, but even his astounding night was not enough to keep Arizona State from falling to 8-3 on the season.
