The Battle for the Bolts is a no-entry-fee tournament open to all members of the Grim Flayer MTG Patreon/Discord community. The tournament consists of 5 Swiss rounds (these have already been played) followed by a single-elimination bracket featuring the 8 most successful players from the Swiss rounds. These quarterfinal matches (and the semifinals, and the finals), will be covered right here on the channel as we play them!
Our competitors’ decklists had to cost 5 Tix or less at the time of submission, resulting in an extremely unique metagame and necessitating some clever brewing. Excepting this cost-related restriction, all normal Modern banlist protocols apply to the Battle for the Bolts.
First place winner takes home a playset of Magic Players Rewards Lightning Bolts! In addition, 5 MTGO treasure chests have been awarded to each Top 8 pilot.
