Silai Heroes Fought COVID By Making Masks, Now On The Verge Of Losing Their Livelihood

Mojo Story’s Madan Lal talks to some of the women who are making masks to protect people from coronavirus infection and at the same time are supporting their family in financial terms during the deadly second wave and the lockdown period. Their work has not only helped in protecting others, but has also given livelihood to many women specially during the period of lockdown. Some of them told Mojo Story that they used to work earlier but have lost their jobs since the outbreak of the covid pandemic. The time is getting tough for them as the covid cases are on a decline in the country and most of the markets are still shut due to the lockdown, the masks made by these women are lying in their workplace and not being transported by the retailers for their selling business. The women say, this was their last resort in the lockdown, and now they aren’t even able to sell the masks in the market. The women say that they have no clue what to do now to run their households.
