Urban Permaculture Garden and Verge Garden

Take a walk around a new urban and verge garden in Brisbane with Sheeba as she explains how she is applying permaculture into the many niches of her garden – side gardens, shady areas, compost area, fences trellis, mini-pond, native bees, worm farm, seed-raising area, native plants, aromatic dog area, potted fruit guilds, and the verge out on the street. Her son Taj, is a member of https://Permayouth.org. Sheeba is a student of the Permaculture Educators Program (https://permacultureeducationinstitute.org).

Sheeba is advocating for verge gardens and was interviewed on ABC radio. She is also working with local organisations and her local school to create community permaculture gardens.

The gardens are just beginning so it’s a great time to see them if you are also at that stage. Perhaps I can revisit later and see how they are getting along.

I’m so proud of the work Sheeba is doing, and so delighted she joined the educators program – she’s such a natural teacher and involving so many local children with her enthusiastic approach.
