Canon EOS-R 10Bit 4K Video Test (Tested with Atomos Shogun)
This is the Canon EOS-R 10Bit 4K Video Test. This is the first full frame mirrorless from Canon. From the specs, yes it is not very impressive. And I know it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But the reason why I picked this camera up. Because of the Canon colour, codec, and the 10Bit colour. Even though the camera crops in a lot when shooting in 4K. (About 1.76x) But as I shoot wedding most of the time. Having the extra zoom is actually pretty good (Personal Opinion). Also I always wanted to have a B Roll camera for my C200. I did have a 5D Mark IV. But the “Motion Jpeg” codec just makes me giving it all the time.

So as you have expected from Canon. The build quality is very good. Feels really good in hands. The hand grip is just like a DSLR. All the controls actually like the 5D Mark IV.

Over all the 4K image is very lovely. Its little bit softer than the A7RIII and the Panasonic GH5. But its very similar to the A7SII 4K I would say. Even though the camera is not too bad. But ofcoz it is far from being perfect. I have listed some of the pros and cons down below. Thanks for watching, please subscribe for more videos like this.

Eos R pros and cons
Pros
-Lovely Canon colour
-Canon Log
-10Bit colour
-Very nice bitrate 120mbps and 480mbps

Cons
-No DCI 4K
-No IBIS
-10Bit has to go with HDMI output which makes the camera not small size anymore (My personal opinion)
-Can’t shoot on card while using 10Bit out
-Heavy crop in 4K
-4K image little bit soft (Compared with C200)
