The Bitconnect platform claimed to offer guaranteed 1% interest A DAY which would amount to over 30% a month. Combined with a Multi-layer-Marketing reward systems typically seen in pyramid and ponzi schemes. The platform reached a peak of 2.7 billion dollars before collapsing to almost zero in a spectacular exit scam by it’s now vanished directors. Many more victims have been reported some losing over 100k. The true scale of the scam is not as visible because the scam’s main target appeared to have been (non-english speaking) east-asians.
