In this video I explain the multi-step solution I found to get my linear rail bearings to glide on the rails while still having preload and no slop. This linear rail shown is from my FolgerTech FT-6 3D printer. One step I failed to mention was that it’s wise to clean the rails with a rag and some fresh oil in between each grade of honing stones as well as when the process is finished. The micro debris the homing stones creates can get lodged deep into cracks and in between the bearings and could cause issues. So be sure to clean thoroughly!
