Living on the Edge with DCN Networking

Living on the Edge with DCN Networking

Special thanks to our 2023 Open Infrastructure Summit sponsors for making the event possible: Canonical (Ubuntu), Huawei, VEXXHOST, Cisco, Tencent Cloud, InMotion Hosting, Mirantis, Red Hat, Trilio, VanillaStack.io, and ZTE!

OpenStack Edge Distributed Compute Node deployments with a single Control plane to manage multiple remote sites is used to deploy workloads requiring low latency, high bandwidth and self-reliance (limit the fault domain) from central site. Remote sites need isolated L3 networks, hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) with local services (DHCP, routing) that can survive temporary loss of connectivity to central the site.

Take a deep dive into Edge DCN Networking for two reference architectures covering deployment and tenant networking options, limitations and advantages of each

* 5G Telecommunication edge with high throughput workloads over routed provider networks with fast datapath, QoS and bandwidth sharing.
* Industrial edge with  IoT, gaming, CDN workloads having distributed services with improved fault tolerance requiring site local SDN overlays and routing services.
