Bitcoin Climbs Past $8,100, Ripple’s Santander Partnership – April 13th Cryptocurrency News

Last weekend Bitcoin dropped to around $6,600, but on Monday it climbed over $7,100, before falling below $7,000. Mufti Muhammad Abu Bakar, a Sharia adviser and compliance officer at Blossom Finance, published a study Thursday titled Is Bitcoin Halal, a Shariah analysis. It states that “bitcoin qualifies as Islamic money, except where it is banned by a local government.” It discusses cryptocurrencies compatibility with Sharia prohibition against fractional reserve banking.

Ripple and Santander have partnered up to launch the first blockchain-based international money transfer service.Santander One Pay FX is actually the first Ripple enabled mobile app for cross-border payments using xCurrent .
