In this video, I discuss what’s happening with Bitcoin, gold, and bonds– particularly as interest rates spike, and central banks are forced into “yield curve control” (YCC).

Higher rates could hurt the stock market, and hence future tax receipts. Once an economy passes 130% debt/GDP levels, it is almost impossible to return. At that point, the central bank increasingly becomes the buyer of last resort of government bonds.

Something similar has been happening since March 2023. As the Fed continues to monetize government deficit spending, market participants are increasingly moving into Bitcoin (and out of gold) to maintain purchasing power. Gold is in the process of being demonetized by Bitcoin, and will eventually trade like any other industrial metal, devoid of a monetary premium.
