IOTA is removing the Coordinator from the IOTA network. There are several reasons why it is undesirable to stay. They are tied to the checkpoint, such as the foundation being able to prioritize transactions, freeze funds or inadvertently shut down confirmations on the network. The Crypto Market News has talked to the IOTA co-founder Serguei Popov, who told about this step nicknamed “Coordicide”.
