The main reason behind bitcoin price crash from last few months is because of $400 million in cryptocurrencies was sold in the past few months by the bankruptcy trustee of the now-defunct Japanese bitcoin exchange Mt Gox.
The SEC said in a statement Wednesday that online platforms trading digital assets that are considered securities need to register with the agency.Bitcoin quickly fell 10 percent to below $10,000 amid the concerns about increased regulation.”The SEC continues to draw a line in the sand between securities and non-securities but without going so far as to name names,” said Spencer Bogart, a partner at Blockchain Capital.
A South Korean travel website with over 50,000 hotels and other types of accommodation facilities will begin accepting 12 cryptocurrencies, thanks to a partnership between its operator and Bithumb, a major cryptocurrency exchange in Korea.
