The Leatt STX RR uses Alternative Load Path technology to protect the neck from the 5 most common types of impact that lead to severe neck injuries. The STX RR protects against hyperflexion, hyperextention, lateral hyperflexion, posterior hypertranslation and vertical forces. The neck brace is designed to transfer forces, not to absorb impact, with transferring potential fatal impacts away from the vulnerable vertebrae and onto the soft tissue in the chest and back. The key to this transfer is to avoid the energy load from going through the neck, so the STX RR is designed to interface with a helmet, but not constrict movement. The STX RR is constructed of hand laid pre-preg carbon fiber and weighs less than a pound and a half and is designed to fit outside of race leathers. Several adjustments allows the rider to perfectly dial in fit, and works best using the help of a friend for a precision fit. Emergency release screws allows first responders to safely remove the brace, but the brace slips easily over the head for regular use. To help keep the STX RR in place, a set of elastic straps comes in the box, but the brace can also be used without the straps. For the best chance of walking away from every crash, the STX RR neck brace is a large investment, but one that can literally save your neck.
