The IOTA Foundation is one of about 30 major players in a new initiative funded by the EU that is setting out to develop entire cities that generate more power than they consume and are connected in ways that no other city has been in history. This is a great opportunity for IOTA to become deeply integrated with smart city systems that will first be deployed in Lighthouse Cities Trondheim and Limerick and then later in a handful of other Follower Cities throughout the EU. These will serve as a model for future expansion for many years to come. Exciting news!
