President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joined the Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) celebration of ‘Breakthroughs and Milestones’ as the country’s flag carrier rolled-out its new A350 and A321 Neo aircrafts in Pasay City.

In his speech, the President applauded the success of PAL, notably for its excellence and commitment in providing world-class flight experience to its passengers. He also acknowledged PAL’s support in administering the repatriation of Filipinos in Kuwait.

“I note that all of the airline’s recent accomplishments and existing initiatives will encourage more people to travel to the Philippines, thereby boosting our tourism industry. Do remember that you serve as a gateway to the beauty of our islands and the vibrancy of our culture,” he said.

President Duterte enjoined the flag carrier and the rest of the private sector to support the government’s campaign in providing a more comfortable life for Filipinos and contribute to the economic development of the nation.

“I assure you that you will have my full support as you realize your vision of becoming a world-class airline. I urge you to join me in bringing real and lasting change for the benefit of our country and people,” he ended.

The newly delivered aircrafts are eyed to provide PAL with non-stop flights to international routes such as Manila to Sapporo, Japan and Brisbane in Australia. According to President Duterte, this opportunity would help connect the world to the Philippines’ ecological and cultural attractions.
