Our full Canon EOS R review is coming soon, but we received our Canon EOS R camera today and couldn’t wait to shoot some test footage, autofocus test, sample photos and a quick review.

We got out our trusty Canon 50mm L 1.2 lens to shoot some test footage and photos. We also filmed an autofocus test with Face Tracking turned on. Combined with the Dual-Pixel autofocus in video mode, this is really powerful. Our Canon EOS R video test is short, but we’ll be doing more videos in the coming weeks!

The Canon EOS R is the first full-frame Canon mirrorless camera. What drew us to the camera was it’s autofocus abilities. It has a huge amount of focus points, and in our tests, it shows. The face tracking autofocus is fast and really accurate. We can’t wait to shoot some more sample photos and do a full Canon EOS R review. Hope you enjoy this first look at the new camera!
