Cardano (ADA) – Major News – Cardano Opens DApps to Fintech – Plutus and Marlowe

First we take a look at Plutus, this brand new tool for smart contracts. From manipulating parts of the Haskell programming language, Plutus was born. This will allow DApp developers to create general purpose smart contracts on the Cardano Blockchain. There will also be a testing ground for projects under development called the Plutus Playground.

The second smart contract tool we look at is named Marlowe. Marlowe will provide a simple way to generate code automatically and create software products. The beautiful thing about Marlow is it is designed to be operated by non-programmers. This will make it easy for those in the financial sector to create smart contracts, without needing the programming knowledge. There is also a place to test these smart contracts in the testing environment named Meadow.

Next we take a look at what Charles Hoskinson said about the SEC and EOS. Since EOS managed to raise 4 Billion dollars during their ICO (an amount called egregious by Charles). Charles believes EOS will run into trouble when the SEC starts to crack down and could see EOS be declared a security. We have already seen two ICO projects be named a security, Airfox and Paragon.

Lastly, we look at the Cardano update v 1.4 – While the update its self isn’t overly exciting, what will follow is much more so.

As stated by Charles Hoskinson, the majority of all future updates will be related to the Shelly Project. This is the much anticipated project as it will usher in the true decentralized era for Cardano and the ADA coin.
