Bitmain, the mining pool and ASIC manufacturing powerhouse has been having troubles lately. Rumors of bankruptcy, Jihan Wu & Micree Zang step down as CEO, and their two mining pools (Antpool and BTC.com) have lost significant bitcoin hashing dominance. Two major ASIC miner manufacturing competitors have begin selling more powerful bitcoin miners, Ebang Communications and Innosilicon. The newest Bitmain Antminer S15 clocks in at 28 terahashes/second while both Innosilcon’s and Ebang’s clock in at over 40 terahashes per second. Finally, a redditor discovered a vulnerability in the Antminer S15 which could lead to takeovers of mining machines remotely. Bitmain is in a world of trouble. Tune in to find out more!
