Analysts said that a deal between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Malaysia Airlines to widen cooperation could give both carriers a bigger slice of the pie amid an increasingly competitive aviation space. They also said passengers could enjoy more routes and value-added services. The deal builds on an existing codeshare agreement and will include SIA subsidiaries SilkAir and Scoot, and MAS’ Firefly. SIA and MAS currently codeshare on flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Penang.
