アジア最大規模のカメラショー「ＣＰ＋（シーピープラス）」が２８日、横浜で開幕した。 一般社団法人・カメラ映像機器工業会（ＣＩＰＡ）の主催で、カメラ・用品などの各メーカーが最新機種や新技術を発表する場として、プロ・アマ問わず多くのカメラファンを集める超人気イベントだ。２０１０年にスタートし、今年で１０回目。 ９月に開幕するラグビーＷ杯（ワールドカップ）、そして来年に迫った東京五輪。日本中を熱狂の渦に巻き込むビッグイベントの“前哨戦”さながら、各メーカーが本気度を競うかのように怒濤の新機種ラッシュでパシフィコ横浜を盛り上げる。 ラグビーＷ杯のオフィシャルスポンサーでもあるキヤノンのブースで、最も注目を集めていたのは、やはりフルサイズミラーレスの最新機種「ＥＯＳ ＲＰ」だ。 同社初のフルサイズセンサーを搭載したミラーレス機「ＥＯＳ Ｒ」に続く２番手は、その名前にＰを冠する“エントリー機”だった。 かつてフィルム時代に多くの人々から支持されたレンジファインダー機「ＣＡＮＯＮ Ｐ（ポピュレール）」を思い出すオールドファンもいるのでは。 一眼レフ機「６ＤＭａｒｋＩＩ」はもちろん、ＡＰＳ－Ｃセンサーの「Ｋｉｓｓ Ｘ９ｉ」並みのコンパクトサイズで登場した「ＲＰ」だが、その性能はエントリー機の枠に納まらない。 パソコンでの画像処理の際にも扱いやすい２６２０万画素のデータは、高感度特性も上級機「ＥＯＳ Ｒ」に匹敵する。 約５コマ／秒（ＡＦ追従時は約４コマ／秒）の連写スピードも、必要にして充分。小型軽量で価格も“ポピュラー”なのに画質は上級機に引けを取らない。間違いなく人気を集めそうだ。
